Maika Monroe wearing the Pyramid Necklace from the film The Guest.
Featured in the ‘Park City at Midnight’ category, The Guest had its world premiere screening at Sundance this week to the tune of several great reviews.
According to Twitch, “Fans of TV’s Downton Abbey may need a double take to recognize Dan Stevens as the murderous David. But once they do, they’ll never look at the prim and proper Matthew Crawley the same again.”
Variety called it “A willfully over-the-top, giddily violent exercise landing between slasher horror and ’70s crazy-Vietnam-vet-returns action-thrillers.”
Anna, played by Maika Monroe can be seen wearing the Pyramid Necklace Brevard created for the film. You can see a more detailed image in the post GUEST Who?
Horus Collection featured in THE GUEST with Maika Monroe.
In addition to the items created specifically for the film, The Guest producers borrowed a number of our own pieces, including some from the Horus Collection. Maika Monroe, who plays the female lead opposite Dan Stevens, could be seen wearing the Pyramid Pendant, Star Stud Earrings as well as our Pirate Ring throughout filming. It was certainly a pleasure to take part in this production with Snoot Entertainment and we look forward to the films release!
“The story of a disempowered man who's disappointed by life, and then becomes the outlaw and tells people to fuck off – it tapped into something in our culture that made people root for him with a fervor, a real kind of "Yes, I want to be that guy!" It touched the part of us that knows what it is to be the underdog, to feel helpless, and to fantasize about having power. And viewers aren't going to like the person who stands in his way. That person was Skyler. When he said, "I'm doing this for my family," she said, "I don't buy your line of bullshit." That made people really angry. And if you add gender politics and perhaps some sexism into it, it becomes even more complex.”
- Anna Gunn recently interviewed by Rolling Stone, discussing her role as Skyler White
In the first couple of seasons of Breaking Bad, Skyler was the moral voice, but viewers identified with Walt’s character so strongly that EVERYTHING she did made them angry. And when you have a protagonist, like Walter White, you NEED an equally strong antagonist - and that was Skyler White. Being continuously lambaste by Walter White fans after every episode only proves Anna Gunn has done her job extremely well. We send out a BIG congratulations to her for 2013 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Skylar White wore Brevard though out the show and her jewelry was a strong design element for her character. Contact the studio for more details.

Vince Gillian wanted to create a logo for the recovery program Jessie attended in Breaking Bad. A play on the Zia Sun symbol, adapted from the seal of the New Mexican Zia Pueblo people, a fifth arm was added to create a star. Giving the symbol a sense of place and symbolizing the choice to take a different path. In the studio we refer to this design as the "Zia Star".

Keep an eye out for Brevard in the upcoming film The Guest. The plot follows a family that befriends a man who has just returned from a tour of duty and claims to have been friends with their deceased eldest son, but who in fact harbors a sinister past and violent agenda. The lead will be played by Dan Stevens who is most widely known for this role as Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey. Quite a turn from his previous role, we are excited to be part of this project and are curious to see how the movie turns out.

Anna Gunn and Skyler White in Breaking Bad, Season 4 – Episode 6 – “Cornered”
Anna Gunn of the series Breaking Bad recently wrote an Op-Ed piece for the New York Times discussing some of the reactions towards her character Skyler White. It’s a great read.
In this image Skyler is wearing our Sterling Silver Old Money Drop Earring with Blue Topaz stones along with one of our Wire Wrapped Chains in Sterling Silver with Hematite beads. Be sure to look for Brevard through out the series.
The inspiration for Old Money occurred when Lee had a lifesaver candy in his mouth while he was working in the studio talking and cracking jokes. Suddenly, Lee laughed explosively and inadvertently spit the partially dissolved lifesaver onto his workbench. The ejected lifesavers form became “Old Money” as it resembled a severely worn out coin. This fit perfectly into the Brevard aesthetic of soft edged, heirloom quality finishes with unique textures.

Perhaps one of the most iconic design from the BREAKING BAD series are our Skull Boot Tips worn by twin assassins known as "The Cousins". Shown here on white boots during a fitting before the boots were dyed a deep burgundy for the show. Bryan worked closely with Vince Gilligan throughout the process of modeling the skull tips, with the original inspiration being Keith Richards’ signature skull ring. Carved & cast by hand in Sterling Silver with an antiqued finish that highlights the details and gives the skulls their depth.
