The constellation Gemini lies between Taurus to the west and Cancer to the east. Latin for "twins," Gemini is the third astrological sign in the zodiac and is best identified by its two brightest stars, Castor and Pollux.
In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux explore the duality of life - mortality and immortality - forever intertwined and perpetually in conflict. Sons of the god Zeus and their mortal mother Leda. A mix of the base and divine, with Castor being the mortal brother and Pollux the immortal. Legendary adventurers and fighters, their story illustrates the dilemma of the human condition. When Castor was slain in battle, inconsolable with grief, Pollux begged his father Zeus to relieve him of the bonds of immortality, so that he could join his brother Castor in the great beyond. To this day, Pollux and Castor stand united in the heavens above.
