Sybil means "seer" or "oracle." Named after the ancient Greek oracles, the Sybils, represented throughout literature and art as women who would enter these frenzied states of divine ecstasy and utter predictions that were often difficult to decipher. Lee said that the multiple stones in each Sybil Ring were a reference to the multiple interpretations that could be made of these cryptic utterances, hence the chosen name.
